Wings Of Sport was founded in the spring of 2009 by Tony Pedeferri, a CHP officer and 10 time Ironman triathlon finisher.  The organization is exclusively for charitable purposes operating as a non-profit corporation as a 501(c)3 entity.  Tony was an elite level triathlete and extremely active in outdoor activities until a horrible incident while on duty left him completely paralyzed from his upper chest down with moderate traumatic brain injury.  Tony turned to sports as he progressed in his treatment.  He quickly realized the cost involved in attaining the proper equipment to participate in disabled sports activities. Tony learned of the large disparity that existed in sporting wheel chair and disabled sports equipment, and the resources for people to attain them.
